In the years following their family's murder and the subsequent reprisal slaughter of the Kurrong people of central Queensland, estranged brothers Tommy and Billy McBride wrestle with grief and guilt at opposite ends of the colony...

But even in the outback crimes cannot stay buried forever, and when a judicial inquest is ordered into the killings, Tommy and Billy find their pasts closing in on them, along with the barbaric Inspector Edmund Noone, who in order to keep the truth hidden must silence the brothers once and for all.
